Description

With the outbreak of the Civil War, Mary supported her husband’s goal of saving the Union and stayed loyal to every one of his policies. Yet Mary Todd Lincoln was considered by many to be the first “westerner” First Lady—and this led many to dislike her. She worked hard to adapt to eastern culture, but critics described Mary as “coarse” and “pretentious.” Mary struggled with her social responsibilities, refurbishing and redecorating the White House only to be accused of excessive overspending while the Union was at war. Mary Todd Lincoln was a kind First Lady at heart, however. She spent her days visiting hospitals in and around Washington, D.C. to offer flowers and fruit to wounded soldiers. She wrote letters for the injured, so they could send news of their condition to their families. Mary even accompanied President Lincoln to battlefields for military visits.

Base Costume (3 PCS) includes a Satin Polyester Jacquard 2 piece Colonial Dress with Penne Velvet Contrast with zipper back, Broadcloth Lined Bodice, Skirt with Adjustable Side Panniers, Trimmed with White Polyester Lace and a Victorian Fascinator with Lace Trim.

Bundle Option (6 PCS) Includes everything from Base Costume Option, plus a Black Shawl Trimmed in Black Lace, Black Feather Hand Fan, and a Brown Wig.

Value Bundle (8 PCS) includes everything from Bundle Option, plus a White Hoop Skirt (Skirt has 3 hoops, pictured is a 4 hoop skirt) and Wrist Length White Lace Gloves.

Do you have a physical store?

Yes, we do have a physical warehouse, but it is not open to the public as it is primarily used for the construction of our garments and the shipping of our online orders. However, if you are in the local area, you can arrange for a pickup of orders placed online. Please email us in advance so we can provide you with an exact pick-up window.

How do I request a custom costume?

At this time, we are unable to accommodate custom orders. We are fully committed to constructing and fulfilling our existing online orders. We appreciate your understanding.
