These breeches/trousers/pants are great. I’m 5’4” 30 inch pants inseam and 30-32 waist so I purchased a size medium. The material is thick, but breathes very well, so you have durability and ventilation. Buttons are rather large, so they need to be “exercised” to stretch out the button holes. Don’t wait for that late afternoon, 5 minutes pre-joust porta-potty visit to do this. Keep in mind there are no pockets. Wish the drawstring was a bit more robust like the leg ties, as it is a little thicker than a Doc Martens shoelace, whereas the ties for the legs are made of the same canvas as the rest of the pants. I ordered two pair, so I might make one the guinea pig and try adding belt loops and pockets. Wash them separately by hand, at least the first time, because the color will bleed, making the water look like coffee. Overall, great, simple functional pants that are versatile and probably easily modified with belt loops, embellishments, etc if you know your way around a needle and thread.
