Description

Our children's costumes are individually crafted with careful attention to both detail and quality. Our historical and period clothing is made with pride in America and built to last from materials sourced in the USA.

We have not forgotten about our Founding Mothers. They had plenty to teach us about the dreams of those who fought for independence and, by extension, about our political era. These women were participants in the American Revolution and the founding of our nation was critical to the creation of a democratic republic. Our colonial costumes are great for school plays, book reports, or any colonial-themed function.

Lydia Darragh (1729 – December 28, 1789) was an American woman said to have crossed British lines during the British occupation of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania during the American Revolutionary War, delivering information to George Washington and the Continental Army that warned them of a pending British attack.

In 1775 Mary Katherine became the first female postmaster in the United Colonies. In this position, she often received and was able to publish news faster than her competitors. Increasingly, newspapers were becoming an important vehicle for spreading ideas and reporting on the conflict with Great Britain.

Nancy Morgan Hart was a true rebel. She was tough and resourceful, full of dislike for Tory soldiers and the British monarchy and a strong supporter of the American Revolution.

Molly Pitcher—or more accurately, Mary Ludwig Hays—swabbed and loaded the cannons in 100-degree weather, fighting alongside the men of the Continental Army. She nearly lost her legs when a British musket ball flew between her legs and ripped her skirt, but she continued loading the cannon and fighting. The revolutionaries saw victory by the day’s end.
